Getting Started With Legacy

Welcome to Legacy!!!

There are a couple of things you should do immediately as a new member of Legacy.  First, please take the time to go through the entire player roster via your embassy.  Visit each castle and friend request all members.  Next, as you visit them, send a single unit as a reinforcement to their castle (usually an inexpensive archer but you can send anything).

Being a friend will allow you to give and receive resources and troops at a much faster pace, and you can come to the aid of league members and revive their castle defenses when they are attacked (and they can revive yours!).  Putting reinforcements in fellow player castles will allow you to see spy activity and raid activity against every member.  Our players will return the favor, allowing us to be alerted to any attacks on you as well; so that we can respond immediately to any attacks; from reviving troops to sending warnings and counter attacks.  Be sure to check for incoming friend requests as well.

You should try and install the screenshot program Lightshot.  It is available for both windows and mac.  You will need this for many reasons; to share battle results in chat or on the Legacy Hits blog and resolve disputes with allies from time to time.  Go HERE to get the program.

Spend time in chat.  It is the place to meet and greet, as well as ask for support.  Get to know the players in our league.  Its a great group of people who are always willing to help.

Getting Help Defending Incoming Attacks

When faced with an incoming attack, you have to decide if you are going to defend, or stash your troops away and ride out the attack safely in your catacombs.

Assuming you are going to defend, and want help from your league mates:

Make sure you go to the league chat and provide the following:

Attack ETA
Attacker Demographics (Level, League, Coordinates)
Your Castle Defense Bonus
Any history you might have had with the player that led him to attack you.

Build Your Walls As Soon As You Can!

Are you tired of your defense always getting chopped up?  Do you think that the offense always has the upper hand?  Chances are you have neglected your castle defenses.  Not your troops, your CASTLE.  Did you know that for every 100 castle points, which are a combination of additions like castle guards, fortifications (walls, castle expansion, etc...) and decorations; all of your defending units get a 1% bonus?  So yes, that means 1,000 castle points means a 10% boost to all of your defenders!  Would you like to double your defense?  Get your castle to 10,000 points and you have 100% bonus.  See how those incoming attacks fair now!

Legacy members are smart players.  They don't want their defense getting chopped up helping to defend your castle when you don't have a good castle defense bonus.  So they might not rally to you.  If you want the support of the league, this should be a high priority focus for you!

Rules of Engagement

Our rules are few and simple.  Beacons and Fortresses of any league are NOT to be hit unless authorized by leadership.

Anything that isn't an "Ally" or "At Peace" is a potential target.  All sieges, allied or not, are raid targets.

Allied or At Peace settlements and hamlets are not to be hit, nor are their personal castles.

Please be sure to check our peace or ally status in the embassy BEFORE spying and raiding other leagues.

Siege Policy:

All sieges may be raided.  Allies will not and can not siege other allies castles.  Do NOT raid a fellow league mates sieges without warning them first. Give them a respectable amount of time to respond.  If they have not logged on that day, it would not be reasonable to assume they got your warning. If it is a regular raid spot of yours, let your league mate know you plan to continue to raid it, and if they choose to keep more than 1 archer in the siege, it is at their own risk of losing all of their units in there.  If an agreement cannot be reached with a teammate, you may still raid it.  Leadership recommends only holding sieges with one archer to help prevent friendly fire incidents.

Settlement / Hamlet Rules:

Allied or At Peace settlements and hamlets may not be attacked.
Unclaimed settlements and hamlets are first sieged first claimed.  If you took it from Balur when it dropped, take a screenshot in case their is a dispute with an ally.
Non-allied or At Peace settlements and hamlets are free for all to take.
If you have a settlement or hamlet for at least 1 hour and lose it, you have 1 hour to retake it.  Otherwise the first in rule with allies is out the window.

Good luck and happy hunting.
